Equality Texas is joining with State Representative Mike Villarreal in his efforts to secure a public hearing for his bill, HB 538. Titled the Freedom from Workplace Discrimination Act, the bill would prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

I am asking you to sign the petition in support of the bill and calling for a public hearing in the House committee on State Affairs. The goal is to obtain 2,000 signed petitions and deliver them to the Honorable Curt Solomons, Chair of the House Committee on State Affairs. This done in order to persuade Chairman Solomons to schedule a pubic hearing on the bill.
